Welcome to ReqSpecs. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ReqSpecs platform at reqspecs.io ("the Service"), operated by ReqSpecs ("we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use ReqSpecs. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written consent
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorisation

4. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all project data, requirements documents, user stories, and other content you create using the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

4.2 Our Platform

The ReqSpecs platform, including its design, code, features, documentation, trademarks, and branding, is owned by ReqSpecs and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our branding or trademarks.

5. AI-Generated Content

ReqSpecs uses artificial intelligence to help generate and refine requirements, user stories, and related documentation. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and should be reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and suitability before use in any professional or commercial context.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before using it in your projects or sharing it with stakeholders.
  • Your project content is sent to third-party AI providers for processing. These providers do not use API inputs to train their models.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

  • ReqSpecs offers a free trial period. No payment is required during the trial.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis at the rate displayed at the time of purchase.
  • All fees are in the currency displayed at checkout and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price changes take effect.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or engage in activity that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
  • We may retain your data for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes, after which it will be deleted.
  • You may request an export of Your Content before your account is closed.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReqSpecs and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReqSpecs and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Australia. Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at info@reqspecs.io.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also send an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
